A Tribute for Doug on Valentine’s Day
“it’s not how long a flower blooms but how beautifully”
a poem for Doug
February took my Valentine
but left me with his heart
stories that are missing now
upset his applecart
a fundamental reconteur
with down-to-earth advice
Harken! We can hear him now!
content in paradise.

Thanks for the copy of Jack’s eulogy, what a nice one it was. Doug sure deserved all those kind and true words. Ray and I thought so much of him. He was a sincere, honest and down-to-earth person… he appreciated so much what anyone did for him – even the smallest act or favour. We will miss him and I know you and your family will miss him immensely. We will make a donation to the Diabetic Fdn. when we go home. We go home in April.
—I will say this – you were both very lucky to have met and spent many fun years together, travelling, golfing, etc. You have many good memories, Norma, again our sincere sympathy. I think you know how we feel and also how helpless we feel down here and not able to be part of the funeral. My first cousin died just a few weeks ago also (Killaloe) – very sudden – 64 years old. Ken McBride and Ray were remisicing yesterday about Doug. (from Florida).
